Study: Whole-Genome Sequencing of Pasteurella multocida Strain Isolated from Bovine
show Abstracthide Abstract
Pasteurella multocida belongs to the Gram-negative group of bacteria and is pathogenic to many host animals, including humans. In the livestock industry, P. multocida is a pathogen that causes pneumonia in cattle, especially in calves, resulting in significant economic losses and animal welfare concerns. It is considered to be one of the causative agents of bovine respiratory disease complex (BRDC) and is a commensal bacterium. Since there is very little information on the whole genome of P. multocida isolated from cattle in Japan, it is important to clarify this information for comparative studies. The goal of this study is to determine the complete genome sequence of P. multocida.
